C Select: This is the best grade of pine boards. It is mostly clear, although some knots are allowed. Within this grade there are pieces with no knots.

D Select: This is the lower end of the #1 Select pine boards. It has lots of clear material with well spaced black and red knots.

Finish: Excellent appearance; knotty grade with several scattered sound, tight, small knots. Cost effective grade for painting or a nice clear natural look.

Premium: Nice red knotted lumber with very few black knots. Excellent grade for a quality knotty pine look.

C Select Inset Photo

HE Standard: Very knotty in appearance, with larger red knots. This grade allows for more black knots. Great for a really rustic look.

Note: All pine boards are graded for appearance; therefore, it is a personal choice as to how many and what size knots you, the customer, prefer. The knot structure does not affect the planed surface. All grades will have the same finished look.
