HardiPlank: The James Hardie company has unveiled a new concept to home building: the HardieZone™ System. This system provides specific performance attributes relative to the climate where the product will be used. For New England with our cold winters, HardiPlank has introduced a product called Color Plus whereby the paint is baked into the siding. This helps to resist chipping, peeling and cracking, and Color Plus comes with a 15-year Warranty. Lap siding comes in 2 finishes: Smooth or Select Cedarmill (Natural texture). Maibec’s Cedar Strip Shingles: A truly authentic look, yet easy to install. The shingles come in pre-assembled strips (6 shingles per strip) and are more efficient and economical to install. The systematic design guarantees alignment of keyway spacing over three successive courses. Available in Maibec’s Kennebunk Select shingle or Nantucket Premium shingle. The Select Shingles have no visible defects on the exposed face, though you may find some knots or natural characteristics on the shingle. The Premium shingles have no defects whatsoever. The shingles are made of Eastern White Cedar. They are resquared and rebutted and come in Natural (KD) or Factory stained.
